She checked her makeup once again before stepping into her mother’s house. The new concealer was perfect, heavy coverage with natural finish. Just the thing she was looking for.

Two hours they spent together, her mother talking about the most ordinary everyday things and she gushing about her perfect life.

As soon as she stepped outside it started raining, icy drops of water splashing against her perfect face. Panicking, she pulled out her mirror. Her makeup was gone, the bruises stark against her white skin. She was cheated, her makeup was not waterproof. She could not hide anymore
